Privacy policy: Hide Listings for Airbnb
Last updated: 30 September 2026
Hide Listings for Airbnb is a browser extension that hides the Airbnb listings you choose not to see again. This policy covers its Chrome and Firefox versions.
What it stores
When you hide a listing, the extension saves:
- the listing's Airbnb ID and a link to it,
- its name and short description as Airbnb shows them (for example "Apartment in Lisbon"),
- a link to its photo on Airbnb's image server,
- the time you hid it.
It also saves one setting: whether hiding is paused.
Where it's stored
Only in your browser's extension storage, on your own device. It isn't synced to your other devices, and it isn't sent to the developer or to anyone else.
What it doesn't do
- It doesn't collect, transmit, sell or share any of your data.
- It has no analytics, tracking or advertising, and it doesn't load code from anywhere.
- It runs only on Airbnb's websites. There, it looks at listing cards (their links, names, prices and photos) so it can add its Hide buttons and hide the listings on your list, along with their map pins. It doesn't save anything from those pages beyond what's listed above; in particular, not your messages, bookings, account or payment details.
Network requests
The extension itself sends nothing anywhere. The toolbar menu, and the message that appears after you hide a listing, show the listing's photo, which your browser loads from Airbnb's image server, just as it does when you browse Airbnb.
Backups
Export saves your hidden list to a file on your computer, and Import reads a file you choose. These files stay on your computer unless you move them yourself.
Deleting your data
To delete a listing from the list, restore it in the toolbar menu; Restore all deletes the whole list. Removing the extension deletes everything it has stored.
